New Range of Anti-microbial Brushes makes a Clean Sweep

May 18 2017

Teknomek has launched a range of anti-microbial brushes developed to combat the threat of bacteria contamination for sectors that demand exceptionally high standards of cleanliness, such as pharmaceutical, food processing, and healthcare. The FDA and EU approved products include a hand brush and brooms to suit scenarios for dealing with heavy or medium particles.

Sue Springett, commercial manager at Teknomek, said: “It’s all very well keeping floors clear of debris but the dirt picked up on the brushes themselves can become a breeding ground for bacteria including MRSA, E-coli, Listeria spp, and Campylobacter.

“The irony is efforts to maintain hygiene standards could actually be spreading hazardous microorganisms around a facility. This can lead to unpleasant surprises when the time comes for an audit, or in the worst-case scenario if your business is linked to a food poisoning outbreak.”

The product range includes: 300mm or 457mm wide anti-microbial sweeping brooms, designed for cleaning particles from large areas; anti-microbial hand brush, developed for scrubbing heavy particles and stubborn debris that may accumulate around areas such as production lines, may be used with an anti-microbial dustpan; anti-microbial hand scoop, ideal for transferring ingredients in food preparation areas.

Each of the new brushes contains Biomaster antibacterial technology, which employs a silver-ion base to inhibit bacteria. The brushes are now available exclusively from the Teknomek catalogue and website.

Sue Springett concluded: “Teknomek is perhaps best-known for its market-leading hygienic furniture, however we are much more than a manufacturer. There are now close to 3,000 items available through our catalogue and the choices expand on a monthly basis.

“We aim to make the procurement process for our clients as easy as possible by offering a one-stop shop for each of the markets we support. This new range of brushes takes us one sweep closer to fulfilling that ambition.”
