Stamp of approval for Medical Grade Breathing Air Purifiers
Aug 02 2013
Parker medical grade air has been given the stamp of approval by a leading independent institute validating the product against European Pharmacopoeia standards.
IUTA (Institut für Energie- und Umwelttechnik e.V.) put the Parker domnick hunter and Parker Zander Medical Grade Breathing Air and Surgical Air Purifiers under the spotlight to ensure they meet rigorous medical regulations set out in the seventh edition Medical Book 2011.
IUTA said: “We are an independent testing body based in Duisburg, Germany and carry out analysis to ISO standards. We are pleased to say that Parker’s purifiers exceeded the European Pharmacopoeia requirements, with pollutant concentrations significantly higher compared to normal ambient air.”
A medical air supply is regarded as a vital part of every hospital infrastructure and is one of the few medicines that are manufactured on-site. Compressed medical grade air can be used for a wide variety of applications such as anaesthetics, lung ventilation, intensive therapy, pneumatic surgery tools, nebulisers and many more where the quality of the air is vitally important.
Gerard Catchpole, from Parker said: “This is a fantastic step forward for our range of medical products. The validation has further enhanced our medical product offering and provides our key partners and clients, such as Draeger, Central Uni, Powerex and Medical Ohio, with the confidence and reassurance in this vital component of a medical breathing air installation.”
