Olympus CX3 series - award-winning ergonomics for routine microscopy

Mar 07 2018

Recognised with an “iF Design Award” in 2017, the Olympus’ CX23 microscope combines exceptional user comfort with bright, uniform illumination, delivering superior ergonomics and reducing fatigue during long periods of routine microscopy.

Focused on improving workflows for educational and routine microscopy, the CX23 features a compact design and many updates to improve portability, usability and security. The low weight (5.9 kg) and stable metal frame of the CX23 make it a robust and cost-effective choice for use in the field as well as for use in an educational setting. A maintenance- and centring-free LED light source completes the package, ensuring years of worry-free use.

Also part of the CX3 series, the Olympus CX43 and CX33 upright microscopes are especially designed for high-throughput regular use. Frequently-used controls have been lowered, allowing a more natural position for the user’s arms during operation. The stage is 70 mm lower, resulting in a large working space under the eyepiece, making it easier to check or swap samples with just one hand. The stage and co-axial focus knobs have also been lowered, so users can reach these controls while their forearms remain on the desk. A low five-position revolving nosepiece features a unique finger rest which enables users to quickly change magnification with minimal arm movement.

Improving durability and reducing running costs, the centring-free LED light source with a long 60,000-hour lifetime ensures stable imaging performance over long periods of time. The new LED light source provides uniform illumination and constant colour temperature at any brightness level. This provides a natural representation of colors from a wide range of stains, allowing users to carry out analyses faster and with more confidence.

These features along with the renowned quality of Olympus optics make the CX3 series an excellent choice for any routine laboratory.
