Batteries, Fuel Cells, Supercapacitors – Insights from Applied Chemical Analysis
Jul 23 2015
The new Metrohm website now gives a comprehensive overview of the topic «energy» from the perspective of applied chemical analysis. Among others, the new web pages address challenges such as energy storage (batteries and supercapacitors), fuel cell performance, corrosion monitoring and prevention, and others. Numerous applications (free download) make the new website a valuable resource for professionals from the energy sector in general as well as for dedicated research on photovoltaics and other fields.
Researchers around the globe are looking for ways to convert light into electrical energy ever more efficiently and store this energy in new kinds of batteries and supercapacitors. Still, thermal power plants will continue for the time being to provide the bulk of the electrical energy we need.
Hence, the new web pages also provide numerous applications for monitoring the operation and efficiency of thermal power plants (nuclear and conventional).
The content of the new website in a nutshell:
· Photovoltaics – from research to production monitoring
· Corrosion measurement – standards and methods
· Energy storage and conversion – essential tools & methods
· Two-/Three-cycle power plants – water chemistry for optimum reactor efficiency
