New Temperature Mapping and Health Check for Bloodbanks and Refrigerators

Feb 26 2013

As part of its premium service offering for pharmacies, practices, hospitals and laboratories, leading medical refrigeration manufacturer, Lec Medical, has rolled out a new temperature mapping and health check service for its range of refrigerators and blood banks. In addition, to support the recent launch of its blood bank refrigerators, the company now provides an IQ/OQ (Installation Qualification and Operation Qualification) blood bank service, together with follow-up training by its fully trained field technicians.

The new temperature mapping service follows MHRA recommendations for all temperature controlled storage equipment to be temperature mapped annually. Suitable for all units, the procedure does not intrude on the functioning of the busy environment, and involves a minimum three point temperature map as standard. Additional points can be offered to suit the customer’s requirements. As part of the package, a fully trained technician will complete a report inclusive of recommendations and supply to the customer within days. The service is fully flexible and can be tailored to suit the customers’ requirements.

Designed to offer purchasers even longer service from their refrigeration equipment, Lec Medical’s health check service is built to increase the product’s lifespan as well as being friendly to the customer’s budget and to the environment. Carried out by a specially trained technician, the service involves visual inspections, temperature display calibration and much more. Given that many medical refrigerators fail if they are not maintained correctly, this health check will help increase the life of the customer’s investment.

Yet another service now provided by Lec Medical is new IQ/OQ for blood banks; a requirement when purchasing and blood bank refrigerator. This not only ensures that the correct start-up procedures are followed, but that the unit is functioning correctly and at the correct temperature. Full training on the appliance is also given and a complimentary temperature map is provided for that extra piece of mind. This service complements the new range of blood banks recently launched by Lec Medical.
