Perfectly Aligned Pipette Tips Improve Multichannel Pipetting
Dec 13 2016
Integra report on the advantages of their proprietary GripTips pipette tips when used with multichannel pipettes.
Achieving perfectly aligned tips on a multichannel pipette using generic pipette tips is difficult to achieve. Commonly misaligned tips arise due to how well they fit the pipette cone and the memory effect inherent in polymers which causes the tip material to gradually move back to its original, non-stretched shape.
Having misaligned pipette tips on a multichannel pipette is very likely to result in issues that negatively impacted pipetting results. Such issues include the misaligned tips achieving different immersion depths or individual tips failing to touch off excess liquid.
Designed to provide perfect alignment every time, Integra GripTips feature a positive stop, achieved by a shoulder moulded onto the pipette tip plus a corresponding tip fitting found on all Integra EVOLVE, VIAFLO and VOYAGER range pipettes. This unique design ensures that pipette tips cannot be loaded beyond the positive stop and all tips will be at exactly the same height. GripTips are widely proven in labs worldwide to improve the reproducibility and accuracy of multichannel pipetting results. Featuring a low attachment force and a low ejection force, GripTips effortlessly snap onto the tip fittings and are easily ejected. Snap on also means that no ‘hammering on’ technique is required and GripTips will never loosen, leak or fall off.
