New Rapid Filtration System for the Entrapment of Microorganisms.

Harvey Coleman Ltd are pleased to annouce the launch of this unique micro-filtration solution which overcomes all the drawbacks of flatbed processes, collecting bio-materials faster and in greater concentrations.

The patented CellTrap unit comprises of 0.2 micron hollow fibre membranes which filter liquids and entraps micro-organisms, which can then be eluted to enable specific detection. There is virtually no limit to the volume of liquid requiring filtration, providing more concentrated samples in a short peroid of time.

The design of the CellTrap system enables accurate samples to be taken faster than is possible using traditional methods, which can result in ATP bioluminescence detection in less than five minutes.

The CellTrap devices are completely self-contained therefore eliminating the danger of contamination from external sources. Because of the use of hollow fibre membranes means that a build up of material takes far longer than on a flat bed membrane. The CellTrap unit lends itself to a wide range of applications for many industries, which include, Brewing, Potable Water, Waste Water (especially useful for legionella), Paper, Power. Food processing and testing, Non brewed beverages, Bathing Waters, Clinical and Research projects.

Not only excellent at collecting cells, the CellTrap is also suitable in providing clean filtered liquids.
