“We are the osmometer people.” 30 years of success: our company has matured!

To be honest on this, our 30th anniversary, we are rather proud of what we have achieved during the past three decades.

Thirty years in which we grew together as a team, but also thirty years in which, in a sometimes difficult and always highly competitive market, we asserted ourselves due to our knowledge, our high-quality products and –last, but not least– due to a trusted cooperation with our customers, to whom we would like here to express our thanks.

We are not an aloof large organisation: we know our customers personally, are familiar with their work and their problems, and thus know what they require from us and the quality they expect from our products. We have remained a mediumsized, private company for 30 years, but we have also become a global player with customers in more than 60 countries.

GONOTEC made its first, promising steps in 1979, when Harald Göritz and Klaus Noack founded GONOTEC GmbH to develop and market analytical measuring instruments.

In the beginning, there was the freezing point osmometer OSMOMAT 030, the instrument which is still the most successful and bestselling member of the osmometer-family.

This was followed by the development of the colloid osmometer OSMOMAT 050, the vapor pressure osmometer OSMOMAT 070 and the membrane osmometer OSMOMAT 090 as well as the freezing point osmometer OSMOMAT 010. Our desire was, and still is, to continue to offer our customers all they need from one source despite their different demands, namely a comprehensive range of osmometers.

In 2001 GONOTEC saw a change in general management and has since then been managed by Jan Celinšek, who in 2003 introduced the previously missing member of the osmometer family: the freezing point osmometer OSMOMAT auto.

Now, in 2009, our anniversary year, we have moved from Berlin-Schöneberg after many years to our new premises in Berlin-Charlottenburg. A lot of space for new ideas!

We will continue to make successful cooperation with our customers and the development of quality instruments our priority; we do not intend to venture into doubtful experiments. But we will still keep a close eye on innovations to enable us to progress even further in the development of instruments that will continue to satisfy our customer’s demands.

One such instrument will be brought to market in our anniversary year: the Chloridmeter CM20. We have also utilised our strengths in the development of this new instrument: our ability to produce high quality products and our knowledge of what will satisfy the demands of our customers.

These are strengths that years ago resulted in our company’s philosophy: “We are the osmometer people.“ And today we are glad to be able to add: ”Always were, always will be.”
