Thermo Fisher Scientific Hosting Science World at Doncaster Racecourse

May 06 2015

Science World, the United Kingdom’s premier laboratory experience, is returning on 7th October to Doncaster Racecourse. The event, hosted by Thermo Fisher Scientific, showcases the very latest in laboratory innovations with thousands of products in action and is ideal for anyone who works in or around a laboratory.

It will be the 23rd UK Science World event and is expected to attract more than 800 visitors and feature three industry-leading speakers and 70 leading companies, including all five of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s premier brands: Thermo Scientific, Fisher Scientific and Fisherbrand, Unity Lab Services, Invitrogen and Applied Biosystems. Other companies include GE Healthcare, Eppendorf, Corning and Kimberly-Clark Professional*.

The event is free, and complimentary transportation is available for groups of 10 or more.

Science World’s keynote speakers will include Internet personality Michael Stevens (also known as Vsauce), who will be answering a mixture of philosophical and scientific questions; scientist, writer and broadcaster Baroness Susan Greenfield, who has been a popular speaker at past Science World exhibitions; and University of Brighton lecturer and scientific showman Dr Hal (Sosabowski), who will be putting on more explosive performances in the name of science.

Other entertainment will include balloon creations from Mr and Mrs Ballooniverse, a caricaturist and Titan the Robot, who will bring a unique blend of comedy, street theatre and music. The event will also feature a pop-up spa and guided tours.

“Science World is such an exciting opportunity to meet the key players in the industry and learn more about ground-breaking innovations,” said John Brear, UK and Ireland Sales Director, research and safety, for Thermo Fisher Scientific. “Through equal parts technology and fun, the event draws together some of the best minds in the industry for a celebration of science.”
