Exclusive Agreement to Sell Range of Gel Documentation Systems in the UK & Ireland Announced

Sep 17 2015

Eikonix, the new scientific digital imaging company, have signed an exclusive agreement to sell the Aplegen range of gel documentation systems in the UK and Ireland. This extends the Eikonix range which already includes automatic colony counters, live cell imagers and fluorescent microscopy imaging systems.

What makes Aplegen special is that its products are redefining the traditional gel documentation market. Gone are the heavy weight darkrooms and the need for wide bench space and in comes a sleek, compact range of systems that are well designed and have strong specifications.  The integral high speed tablets and systems which are ‘fully loaded’ with the ability to work across a broad band of applications, offer a fresh approach to this market.

High levels of performance across the range are assured with the impressive camera line up featuring mega pixel resolution and large pixel sizes for enhanced sensitivity. Match this with quality optics and controlled by the unique SmartCapture Technology for hands free, auto focus operation and you have a gel documentation package which is hard to beat.

Aplegen systems are much more than just a pretty image. The Omega Fluor Plus and the Omega Lum-G will transform the way people image their gels and western blots. The latest addition to the range is the Omega Lum-W which offers a new perspective on western blot and multi-channel imaging. This top of the line model has already created significant interest across the USA and Asia ahead of its launch in Europe.

Paul Ellwood of Eikonix said: “The Company is built on the back of a strong team of imaging experts who have many years of experience in the field of imaging for scientific applications. Based in Cambridge at the prestigious St John’s Innovation Centre we have an unrivalled expertise in the gel documentation market and are excited to be working with the Aplegen range. We recognised the confidence that Aplegen have in us to make this brand a major success.”
