New laboratory product algorithm developed
May 05 2011
The American Roentgen Ray Society has revealed the research of Dr Candice Bookwalter, which was carried out at the University Hospital at Case Medical Center, Case Western Reserve University.
Images obtained from MRIs can often be rendered less useful by patient motion, which can obscure important clinical information.
The new algorithm, dubbed Motion Artifact Removal by Retrospective Resolution Reduction (MARs), can help to reduce this issue.
"MARs detected and removed motion corrupted data automatically in our asymptomatic volunteers and patients, which improved the overall image quality," comments Dr Bookwalter.
In recent laboratory product news, scientists at the University of California developed a microscope without a lens that is capable of producing 3D images.
