‘DuraClone: A New Frontier in Dry Reagents’
Coming up in China on December 12 - a seminar on the clinical use of flow cytometry in HIV testing, as well as info on stem cell analysis and immunophenotyping.
- REGISTER ONLINE>>
- 2:00pm UCT / GMT +8 (Beijing, China)
- It features the role of the company’s Duraclone Dry Reagents demonstrating their workflow, stability and performance.
- Aprajita Priyadarshini, Sr. Applications Scientist at Beckman Coulter will show how an innovative dry reagent like Duraclone can streamline laboratory operations and workflow while maintaining the quality of results demanded by customers.
What You Will Learn:
- Novel reagent offerings for HIV screening
- Advantages to your workflow and instrumentation
- HLA-B27 DuraClone performance and studies
- Multi-color phenotyping panels that are possible using the DuraClone technology and CDS
Duraclone Dry Reagents are formulated with fluorescent counting beads to allow for absolute counts of both T-lymphocytes and total lymphocytes, essential for the monitoring of patients with HIV/AIDs. The process is distinct from lyophilisation eliminating the need for centrifugation and any concerns over losing the antibody pellet - duraclone.com
The paradox of high complexity flow cytometers
Adoption of high complexity, 10 – color flow cytometric immunophenotyping by clinical labs can seem daunting. This webinar led by Dr Jeannine Holden, director of Scientific Marketing, Beckman Coulter Life Sciences, demonstrates that 10 color flow cytometry actually simplifies evaluation of complex human samples like bone marrow and peripheral blood.
She explains how this gives the analyst a more complete picture of both normal and candidate abnormal populations.
Issues in MRD Detection
Small tumor populations can still be present after cancer therapy. This is known as minimal residual disease (MRD). The quantification of MRD has been shown to correlate with relapse and survival rates in several hematological cancers. Standardized approaches in sample preparation and analysis are essential, to ensure sensitivity and reproducibility between laboratories in the 0.01% to 1% range.
Flow cytometry has become an essential tool for the identification and characterization of sub-populations. This presentation focuses on the technical issues that need to be considered when counting such rare events, where precision increases with the higher number of cells collected.
