Sample preparation in trace and ultra-trace metals analysis
Jan 19 2017
The Milestone ETHOS UP & ETHOS EASY microwave digestion systems from Analytix are fast becoming the instruments of choice for preanalytical sample preparation in trace and ultra-trace metals analysis. With a comprehensive choice of accessories, they additionally offer a complete first-class solution for microwave solvent extraction, organic and inorganic synthesis, protein hydrolysis, and vacuum evaporation.
The two systems have a market-leading microwave cavity in excess of 70 litres, allowing for digestion rotors with more sample places for improved laboratory throughput. The SK-15 high-pressure rotor has 15 TFM vessels with a volume up to 100 ml and suitable for all applications. The MAXI-44 high-throughput rotor has 44 TFM vessels with a volume up to 100 ml and suitable for a wide range of samples including environmental and all organics. Both rotors are fully compliant with commonly used standard methods, such as US EPA 3015, 3051, and 3052.
The systems are equipped with the most advanced yet easy to use reaction sensors for complete quality control of the digestion conditions. In combination with patented ‘vent-and-reseal’ vessel technology, the sensors ensure complete and safe digestions without any loss of volatile compounds.
The systems are controlled via a compact terminal provides control of the microwave run whilst storing the run data for future reporting. There is no need to input the number of samples or weights being digested as the software automatically regulates the microwave power accordingly, simplifying the use of the instrument.
