Analytica 2008 - Munich – April 1-4, Europe’s Leading Laboratory Trade Fair – and What to Do After Closing Time

Everything at Analytica is centred around the needs of the laboratory – no matter which industry it serves and no matter who is in operating control.
Over 800 exhibitors from 25 countries are on parade in five of Munich’s splendid exhibition halls in the first four days of April to demonstrate
everything that is new in the scientific laboratory world. Whether you are a dentist or a brewer, there will be something to interest you. An expanding list of exhibitors can be viewed on www.analytica.de, together with everything else you need to know to entice you to this outstanding trade fair.
New this year is the Innovations Area, where small, young companies, who may not have the finance or the expertise to market their product, are offered small stands at competitive prices to meet the Analytica clientele on equal terms. Here – the area occupies a quarter of Hall A3 – the brilliance of a new idea can be seen at first hand.
Also, these young innovators also have the chance to talk about their product and also to learn how to market it, since a Conference Forum is part of this area – the website tells you more.
The Analytica organisers are also offering to German students and
technicians (only, alas) a certification which counts towards their scientific studies – similar to the golf pros who are members of the PGA. It is hoped that this will be extended throughout Europe in 2010.
Since the 2006 Analytica, the surroundings of the trade fair centre
have also changed. When you emerge from the trade fair centre’s dedicated underground station (Messestadt West on the U2 line – and your travel on the trains is free with your entrance ticket) you will see behind you a new hotel, an enormous shopping centre and several
apartment buildings. The hotel, the Dorint, is smart and functional and
good for meetings. In the shopping centre you can buy everything you
need from a pretzel to the latest Bayern Munich football kit. There’s also a large pizzeria, a Running Sushi, and an excellent Kaltenberg “Bierstube”, where traditional Bavarian grub is served, during and after show-time.
Sometimes, despite Analytica’s air-conditioned halls, it’s good to
escape for a bite…
You can register to visit Analytica immediately on www.analytica.de
Visitor brochures are available from Munich’s London office – Pattern Ltd, info@pattern.co.uk - who can also tell you anything else you need to know about how to get there and where to stay - Pressplan Travel have
rooms available, Sroadknight@pressplan-travel.co.uk
There are something like 35 daily flights to Munich from all parts of the UK, so you have plenty of choice.
