New Leak Tester Introduced

Mar 12 2015

Dinkelberg analytics, part of the Altmann Analytik GmbH & Co KG, has developed leak testers for the food and beverage industry, which are also successfully used in production and pharmaceutical industries. Now Dinkelberg has further improved the well-tried devices and launches a new generation of packaging testers on the market. In particular, the design has not only been modernised, but the mechanism has been further improved in order to meet the increasing demands of the laboratory industry.

The testing of packaging for possible leaks is extremely important, not only in the food and pharmaceutical industries. Therefore, packaging must be checked regularly for tightness in order to guarantee the highest possible standard of quality. The leak testers by Dinkelberg analytics have been used successfully for almost 20 years; with their high-quality test chamber made of PMMA, the devices are reproducible for leak testing of closures and seals of various packaging.

In the standard method the test vessel is filled with water and the test package is placed under the height adjustable diving board. After applying a vacuum leaks can be detected quickly and reliably by the rising air bubbles. Thus, almost any package containing filling gas can be tested successfully. With the use of methylene blue solution even the smallest packaging (e.g. tablet blisters) can be checked for leaks.

The new generation of leak testers impresses with its minimalist design, for example, the feeding tube in digital packaging tester was removed, and improved mechanics. The vacuum controller that has already been used successfully since 2006 provides the option to generate the vacuum in four stages with individually adjustable hold times which is used in many laboratories.

The packaging testers by Dinkelberg analytics are now available in two digital and analogue standard models. In addition, customised products with a square test container are made. All models can be obtained through the company’s analytics-shop.com.
