CRM Offers Safety Benefits
Mar 09 2010
Starna Scientific is offering pharmaceutical quality assurance laboratories a safe-to-handle toluene/methanol Certified Reference Material (CRM) for validating instrument resolution with derivative spectrophotometry analysis methods.
The easy-to-use CRM offers safety benefits for users because Starna is the only CRM supplier that is permanently heat-fuse sealing methanol thereby ensuring that laboratory users no longer need to handle methanol, which is a volatile, flammable, toxic solvent.
Starna’s CRM is ideal for pharmaceutical QA laboratories using derivative spectrophotometry procedures to validate instrument resolution following the guidelines specified in section 2.2.25 of the European Pharmacopoeia.
Starna is an ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO Guide 34 accredited Reference Material producer so the company’s Certified Reference Materials (CRMs) provide a convenient and recognised validation method. Full documentation on measurement, handling and storage is also provided with each set of CRMs.
ISO Guide 34 accreditation involves a detailed statistical analysis of the extensive stability and homogeneity data Starna has already accumulated on CRMs as part of the company’s existing ISO 17025 procedures, and a formal review of all associated customer feedback activities.
As a result of this work Starna is able to offer the end-user a lifetime guarantee on Starna® CRMs, providing they have been used and stored correctly, and have been re-certified every two years.
