Evolved Gas Analysis using Balanced Flow Technology

Aug 25 2009

PerkinElmer, Inc has introduced a revolutionary TGA-IR system, the TL8000, which utilises balanced flow technology to ensure high quality, reproducible results. The TL 8000 embodies years of experience in the
use of infrared spectrometry to analyse gas evolved from thermal analysis techniques. Connecting the PerkinElmer PyrisTM, 1 TGA, TGA4000 or STA6000 thermal units to the Spectrum 100 series IR instruments boasts a number of benefits differentiating it from other TGA-IR systems.

Balanced flow means that a constant gas flow is maintained from the thermal instrument through the transfer line and into the gas cell. This allows for better separation of evolved components and subsequently improved results. The high maximum operating temperature of 350OC minimises the risk of condensation of products in the line and the Zero Gravity-effect gas cell eliminates the effects of gravity which can lead to contamination of the cell.
