Versatile analytical and precision balances

KERN & SOHN GmbH is launching new analytical and precision balances in the KERN ADS/ADT ranges (analytical balances) and KERN PDS/PDT ranges (precision balances). Designed for laboratories, industry, and research, they offer high measurement accuracy.

They are equipped with a semi-touch display, which offers a combination of a touchscreen as well as the standard control buttons. The main functions, such as switching the weighing unit or carrying out the adjustment can be activated directly from the display.

There are two ways to carry out the adjustment. ADT (analytical) and PDT (precision) models have automatic adjustment with an internal weight, while ADS and PDS models use an external weight. This ensures flexibility for different applications and environments.

The new models provide rapid, stable measuring results through modern sensor technology. They offer various functions for diverse applications. The statistics function calculates key figures such as the average value and standard deviation. Tolerance weighing checks whether a weight is within predefined limits, piece counting determines quantities using a reference weight, and percentage weighing displays a sample’s weight as a percentage of a reference value.

Several transfer options are available for data processing. The Windows-Direct function sends weights directly to a Windows application using a USB device connection. As an alternative, the measurements can be forwarded to connected systems using RS 232 and USB (device).

The KERN Communication Protocol allows connection to a computer or CRM/ERP system, enabling measurement retrieval and remote control in automated processes. All models allow for GLP/ISO compliant data logging, recording date, time, and a unique ID for each adjustment or weighing.  This guarantees complete traceability and supports use in regulated laboratory and production environments in accordance with the requirements of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
