Today, our working life depends on well-established digital networks, connecting us with colleagues, team-mates, partners, sources of information and the world. All you need to get connected is a smartphone, a tablet or a PC. Now the time has come to link your lab to your devices and to the world, with the VisioNize system. The system is a smart network which allows lab users to organise lab equipment efficiently anytime and anywhere with a single glance.
Smart Network for Lab Management
This system consists of software and hardware components which make it possible for customers to connect several devices in the lab. A central software component allows users to view the current status of the connected devices at any time and from virtually anywhere. This way, the temperature of a freezer, for example, can be displayed and recorded for documentation and analysis purposes. If configured limits are exceeded, the system informs the user with an email notification. An entirely new user interface, which ensures identical operation on the device and on the software, makes use and evaluations easy.
The two software components consist of VisioNize-onboard devices that are already equipped with VisioNize functionalities, and VisioNize box, an easy-to-use hardware integration interface to connect further devices.
The user interface provides intuitive and consistent operation and it is possible to connect your lab equipment to the core and remotely monitor the performance from your office PC or with the mobile app VisioNize go.
Functionality
The PC Software to manage and monitor your lab equipment allows users to: obtain a 24/7 tracking report with detailed trends and event information; receive information about alarms via e-mail notification; use a central database, e.g. for documents and service information.
VisioNize also accompanies you when you leave the lab: The mobile app for iOS® devices means it is possible to monitor your instruments at any time and see what’s going on in the lab, wherever you are.
The hardware connection hub VisioNize box enables users to connect further devices to the system. With the core, all relevant device information and documents are stored on a data server in a central place, on-premises.
With these software applications all precious data is perfectly managed and stored on one smart platform.
New User Interface Concept
The system is controlled by state-of-the-art touchscreen technology which features a distinct design across all systems onboard devices and software applications. Information generated using the device will be routed to the VisioNize core which provides easy access to trend and tracking data with multiple graphs.
Supporting your Lab Workflow
In order to track your samples and scientific data as easily as your instrument data, the option of a great solution is offered for sample tracking and evaluation. Sample Management tools and electronic lab notebooks increases your lab’s efficiency even more.
The partner for this solution is the Dutch company Bio-ITech, a leading Life Science IT company that provides software solutions for managing information in the workflow of laboratories worldwide. Amongst solutions offered is an electronic lab notebook (eLABJournal®), a sample tracking system (eLABInventory), and an SOP designer and manager.
Enabling Connections
The VisioNize box connects devices without touch interface to the VisioNize system and even existing bioreactor systems can be connected via DASware® control.
The VisioNize-bioprocess software works as a hub to integrate your bioprocess equipment into the system. The bioprocess software acts as a gateway system and connects the DASware control software for small-scale bioreactor systems directly and easily to VisioNize core via network.
The installed software stays the same so users are consistently able to work with familiar features.
Additionally, you can connect your bioprocess equipment to the rest of your lab equipment and monitor all devices via Eppendorf VisioNize.
Box users are able to connect VisioNize-qualified devices which means already installed devices can be upgraded and connected to the system. Data decoding and translation enables collection and management of device data in the core.
The wide range of connectable Eppendorf devices include freezers, centrifuges, shakers, temperature controlled mixers, PCR cyclers and the BioSpectrometer® family.
Conclusion
The VisioNize system allows users to easily link lab equipment to central monitoring and data management software. It’s a smart network that lets you have the flexibility to organise your lab equipment efficiently whenever you want and wherever you are.
